Exhausted!

Today was Brody's six week checkup. While I thought I had mentally prepared myself for the day, I had no idea how exhausted we both would be. It probably didn't help having a near sleepless night. But we found out he weighs 8.6 pounds (5%) and is 22 inches long (35%). Yay! When we arrived, Brody was extremely fussy so the nurse said we could feed him. If we only knew...
After the doctor examined him and checked him over, it was time for the dreaded shots. We opted for the rotovirus vac. and he was supposed to take it orally. As soon as he took the last drop, his bottle came right back up. Now we aren't talking a small dribble or burp. The nurse was covered along with the table in the horrible smelling formula. I was so embarassed but then my next thought went to the vaccination. Did he actually get any in? Turns out, probably not. After cleaning the floor, the table, and the nurse we were out the door and ready to go home. We both took a well deserved nap!

First Trip to the Park

It was a gorgeous day yesterday and we were itching to get out of the house. We decided to take Brody for a walk around the park. It was interesting getting him in and out of the stroller for the first time. We really should read the directions before setting out on such an adventure. We ran into Ken's parents who of course doted all over him!

Later, some friends of ours, Mitch and Bryce brought their beautiful daughter Ella to walk with us.

After a couple of hours, baby boy was tired out! All in all, it was a great afternoon. I think it did all of us some good to get some fresh air and relax.

New Beginnings

With only a few weeks left at home with my precious Brody, I thought starting a blog might be a little easier than sending out the mass emails of pictures taken daily. Now your email will not be bombarded each week. I'm so excited about our new addition to the family. It's hard to believe he is almost six weeks old. I just want to say thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We love each and everyone of you!
