Tutu Bow Hanger

I've been very busy working on Oopsie Daisie Orders and have had several comments about selling the tutu bow hangers. So I came up with one today...check it out! This is just a sample I have been working on and it still needs the finishing touches of flowers and bows to cover seams and ribbons, but you get the idea. The bows hang on the ribbons down the front of the tutu. The colors, fabric, and tool are all custom to order. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I'm selling them for $25.00.

Blessed and Thankful

***Don't forget to check the post before this one to see the new "Tutu Bow Hangers" I've created for Oopsie Dasie!****

I recieved a text today from Brody's physical therapist, Katie. It read,

"Brody took four steps!"

Anyone who has seen my phone recently knows that I had to double check and triple check because my phone is somewhat out of order and its hard to read texts. But that's really what it said.

I just want to take a minute to say how truly blessed that God has placed the people that he has in our lives. Immediately after I read her text, I sent it to grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends, and colleagues. All with praise and excitement. Brody is NOTHING but loved! We are so thankful to have all of you in his life!

We are also so so so very thankful for his daycare, Building Blocks. After working with kids for over 8 years now in school and daycare settings, I always swore I would not be "that kind of mother" who always nit picks about everything. But after realizing that his first daycare did not know that Brody could sit up independently (for over a month at the time), I had to pull him out. He was already so behind from the reflux, I just couldn't stand the thought of him spending all of that valuable time in a bed.

So in August, God stepped in and we are just amazed at the love and caring these people have for Brody. Every staff member...and I mean every staff member, knows his name, and cheers him on when we walk hand in hand from his room to the front door. I know that they will never know how appreciative we are for them.

Enough of the sappy stuff...I got his "work" folder today and just had to show yall the cute stuff they are doing with the toddlers.

Brody's Octopus

Love this one! They put sand in the paint!

Each week, they have a color and number. How cute is this!

And of course...immediately they went up on the fridge!

Favorite Pics of My Favorite Little Person

This cracked me up...he was actually SNORING! He must've played really hard that morning...

Brody LOVES to climb and crawl through things over and over and over...

**Sidenote: It looks like Dr. Jabalay, the doc who is doing the surgery on Brody's foot, might be able to do the hernia surgery as well. They said to bring him in for another consult. Also we meet with the eye doc Tuesday to get the go ahead on his eye surgery.

Showin' Off!

I just felt like showing off my newest favorite canvas I've been working on for Oopsie Daisie. Didn't it turn out so cute!!! Its a graduation present for a senior who will be attending the finest university in the South!

I need to figure out a way of making it more boyish. I want to make one for Brody's room.

Show Us Where You Live-Guest Room Edition

Its that time of the week again....and of course I'm a little behind. That just seems to be life at the moment. = ) This week Kelly has asked us to show off our Guest Room a.k.a Blogger Central, a.k.a Oopsie Daisie Headquarters, and I have to say, ours is a little....B.L.A.H! I loved my guest room at our old house. But I just don't want to get to involved in decorating. Brody will be moving rooms in the next year. This is the bigger room and by then we may be getting ready for another nursery. Who knows...anyhooo...back to the tour...
This is the view from the door...exciting I know...

My messy desk

Love all the windows in our house...Bailey loves them even more. She loves to sleep with her head on the windowsill when the sun is out.

This is a picture of the bookcase across from the bed. My grandfather built it forever ago and I was lucky enough to get it. As you can see, it is serving me well holding all of my Oopsie Daisie projects. Paints, ribbons, frames...etc.

Close up view of frames...let me know if you want to order any thing...wink wink!

I'm not fancy enough yet to get a drying rack, the bed serves well though.

Several works in progress...

Another view of the bed. At our old house, this room was painted a really pretty sage green. This bedspread went perfect with the color. It was a hand me down from our neighbors turned best friends. Thanks Kim and Rob!

Well folks, thats the end of the tour. Not too exciting tonight but thanks for stopping by!

Happy 16 Months!

Brody was 16 months on the 9th of May. I can't believe how fast time is going by! Brody is so much fun at this age and is really coming into his personality! As always, here is a quick run down (mostly for me) of his likes, dislikes, and milestones.

Likes:
  • Elmo still takes the cake in Brody's eyes.
  • His new big boy room at daycare.
  • His daddy...even says, "Heeeeyyy Daaadaaaa!"
  • Bailey
  • Fishsticks...I know, completely grosses me out!
  • "Walking"

Dislikes:

  • Thinking he's been left alone
  • Wearing shoes of any kind
  • Being dropped off at daycare
  • Being told "no-no"...is usually followed up by balled up fists and a loud grunting "UHHH UHHH".

Milestones:

  • Got five teeth this month...now you are up to 10 including all four of your two year molars.
  • Can walk holding onto one of my hands
  • Stands for a couple of seconds
  • Can say "heeeeeeeeeey daaadaaa!" with a HUGE grin when daddy walks in the room! (Still don't seem too interested in calling mommy by name...)
  • Can get yourself off the couch unassisted
  • Cruising all over the place, can transition between furniture

*Important Events: Toe Surgery scheduled for June 18th. Consults for eyes and belly in the upcoming week. Hopefully we will be able to do all three surgeries at once if they are all needed. Please keep Brody in your prayers in the next couple of weeks.

Show Us Where You Live-Lving Room Edition

Ha! I told yall I would be on time for this one = ) Kelly at Kelly's Korner has asked us to show off our living rooms this week.

Before we begin, I have no idea what I was doing when I took these pictures. The camera makes my living room look three different colors depending on which picture you are looking at.

This is the view from the kitchen...sorry for it being so blurry...

Another view from the kitchen...excuse the paper lanterns. I hosted Bunko last night haven't taken them down yet.

This is the built-ins and Brody's corner. Its hard to see, but I love my new frame I got for Mother's Day/birthday...

Here's a close up.

I'm still working on getting things on my mantle. I'm trying to get my mom to make me some really tall flower arrangements with my colors in it to go on either side of the clock.

This is the foyer wall when you enter my house.

This is the view from the foyer...

This is the view if you are standing with the TV to your back...

This is the wall you are facing when your back is against the windows...

I'm working on getting this frame finished to go in place of the sign above the table...

Hope you have enjoyed the tour. I have much more work to do in this room, than in the kitchen. The coffee table that I LOVE is in the garage, but I think its about to make its debut pretty soon. Brody is crusing now and this will give him something else to walk along. Its so hard to have the "nice" things out when you have a toddler who just throws them on the floor. = )
