Sorry for Blogger Slacking

...but life has been crazy at the Hayman Household for the last month or so. We have been to our first Miss State football game, learned how to run, hanging out with the family, WORKING like crazy, and getting sick.

For the last week, literally Friday to Friday, I have been down with the Type A, Swine Flu. And yes...I survived! Really didn't think I was around day 5 but lost 6 pounds in the process and pulled through ha!

I was quarantined in our bedroom for the duration and Ken was amazing through the whole thing. I couldn't be in the same room with Brody, let alone, bathe him, feed him, or take care of him. With only a few minor bumps, bruises, and one nasty carpet burn to the head, Brody survived and is LOVING his daddy!

We also missed the second home game against LSU yesterday, but I think it did all of us good to stay home and rest, especially after an impromptu trip to the doc for Ken. No swine flu, just sinus infection but went ahead and got a nice shot with a side of antibiotics.

We did however make it to the first home game against JSU which was a lot of fun for the most part. I was coming down with something ( I know, really who gets sick this much! I think its just part of being a teacher...) so I was foul and tired but Brody really did do well for it being so hot and having no nap. This was the biggest crowd I've EVER seen at State and it was AWESOME!!!

We also got this little present in the mail the other day. My aunt my Brody his very own Bulldog quilt and pillow for the games! LOVE it!

We've also started a new "tradition" if you will, with Ken's side of the family. We got together in August for Ken's sister's birthday and realized that the only time we ever get together anymore is for someones birthday. I really miss hanging out with them and seeing all the kids. And now my other sister-in-law is preggo with the 5th boy on that side and we just had to come up with a way to see each other more. So now we each "host" a month and have a family dinner. So much fun! My turn is coming up in October, very excited!!

These pics are from Ken's sister's house. This my nephew Ryan who is a day a part from Brody. So stinkin' cute!!

Brody learned how to eat his first popcicle all by himself.

Go Dawgs!

I just had to post a picture of Brody today. Ready for game day!
Tomorrow Brody turns 20 months!!!! I can't believe it!
Brody is such a different littl boy from 8 months ago.
He is completely MOBILE in every sense of the word!

Brody's LIKES:
  • siiiiiiiiiiide, outside for those of you who don't speak toddler. This is by far the number one thing for Brody. He pitches all out FITS if you don't let him go out.
  • chicken nuggets
  • nutrigrain bars
  • his playroom
  • chasing Bailey, our lab
  • daddy more so than mamma this month
  • books
  • daycare
  • singing and dancing
  • Lala...we're working on Bubba ha Michael!
  • Elmo...slipping from first
  • Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse Playhouse...well pretty much anything on Disney Playhouse
  • laughing at Bryce
  • taking baths
  • green beans, carrots, popsicles
  • going night-night...at night
  • his blankie
  • staying with both sets of his grandparents

Brody's Not-So-Likes:

  • taking naps in his crib...must be on the floor on his Stephen Joseph Lion Nap Mat that he takes to daycare.
  • eating off a spoon...refuses unless he's trying to do it himself
  • riding in his car seat
  • sitting in time out
  • being told no-no
  • being left, but tends to recover easier now

Brody's Milestones:

  • running, scaling anything and everything
  • talking
  • Brody's words: ball, bath, bye-bye, hey, up, bay bay (bailey), lala, dada, momma (very seldom), two, yay, book, juice, shoes, sock
