Little Man~Not So Little Anymore

On July 9, two very important events were quietly celebrated:
(1.) Ken and I have been married 5 years!
(2.) Brody turned 2 and 1/2.

Ken had to work since having the previous weekend off to go to the beach. So after work we had a nice dinner at Char...one of my FAVORITE places to eat!

On that same day, Brody turned 2 and 1/2! I can't believe how fast he is growing and changing and how much he is learning. I know all mamas think their child is a little genius and I'm no different! So....I haven't done this in awhile but here are Brody's Likes, Dislikes, and Milestones.
Likes:
his MSU pillow and a close second, his Elmo pillow

Anything with Buzz Lightyear, Nemo, or Elmo

Chicken Nuggets, French Fries, and Dip Dip (ketchup), popsicles, easy mac, green beans

Swimming in the pool at PAW PAWs HOOOOOOOOOOUSE (as he says)

Outside...the child would live out here if I'd let him

his LaLa B..my sister Lauren

both sets of his grandparents...literally to death!

bedtime

naptime

Sliced Cheese

Dislikes

milk is starting to creep up on this list

anything I tell him to do...terrible two's anyone?

SAND...very sad to anyone in the Barnard Family

most veggies at this point...not sure what happened here

Using the potty

Milestones

Brody is like a little sponge and soaks up EVERTHING!!

He can identify the capital letters, B, R, and O anywhere in print.

He is talking quite a bit using mostly complete sentences.

His speech is still a concern and will be tested in October. He fronts most of his sounds, unable to make the hard sounds from the back of the throat such as the /k/ sound. It pretty much omitts those all together.

He tries to sing the ABC's hitting most of the letters. Can put puzzles together...the big chunky ones

Can identify common objects from picture or tangible item.

Can tell you what the color of something is

Can identify something that is shaped like a circle or square

Can count to four by pointing, and rote count to ten...sometimes.

Has become very independent..."My do it, mama!"

Eats with fork and spoon, drinks from a cup

Plays independently well

Knows what he prefers over other things, makes choices

And that's my lil' man in a nutshell! Ken and I are so blessed to be his parents!
