Update on Brody

I wanted to give an update on Brody since this blog is my journal as much as anything else. At 12 months and 3 weeks, we have given up the bottle...well we are in the process of giving up the bottle. Baby food too for that matter. Brody has not had one single bottle today. YAY!!! We have gone through several kinds of sippy cups and the Take-n-Toss worked really well for awhile. But Brody is really rough on cups and likes to throw them across the room. The TnT's could come open and juice and milk would go everywhere.

We have found a lot of luck with the Playtex cups, for anyone who's looking to start with sippy cups. I have ordered new labels (MSU ones) from BabyFace Designs and can't wait for them to come in!

My baby is such a big boy! We also are moving away from baby food. I am sending him tomorrow for the first time with only 3rd foods and graduate foods. He prefers the pasta pickups. Yummy. They even have a spinach and cheese ravioli. We haven't tried that one yet. We packed up all my mom's bottles at her house today, and ours are next. Also, we let him cry himself to sleep last night for the first time in a VERY long time. We started out doing really good with his sleeping and then came all of the ear infections and upper respiratory stuff. I just felt sorry for him and would rock him to sleep.

He's getting to big and its almost midnight every night trying to get him to sleep. He'll easily fall asleep on our shoulders and then the minute you put him in his bed, he's awake! Last night it only took about 20 minutes of screaming before he finally gave in. I count that as a SUCCESS!
